SUITE

© Farouk Asvat

My father means I need to be beaten up
If I mess around with a coloured chick
But strues god! my mother hears me
I fancy the show
An' I couldn't be bothered with strange morality

An' then,
The whiteys, they play with my happiness
An' my friends, they springbok me
An' the cops too, they don't make any sense

But I, I don't give them any rope.
To say, I still strum guitar
Speak of the gôver'mênt
An' when I have my way
I kick the law in its mother

Siezah! life is sweet like a lêmôn.
