taut cowhide drums
Hunted and
hounded
You sought
refuge
Among the
reeds and acacias
Among the
elephant grass and baobab
Of your
native land
Hunted and hounded
You sought
the fruits of the desert
In the
foreign countries
Of your own
continent
Hunted and
hounded
You found
refuge in the icy landscapes
Of an alien
society
Where the
sun hardly sets
